Team Expectations

TITANS        2009-2010

Student Responsibilities

1.      Each student will come to class with the following materials: agenda, completed homework, appropriate notebook, covered text (math & SS),
3-ring binder (LA & science), reading book, and writing implements.

2.     Student will follow team rules. (See separate page.)

3.     When absent from class, student will obtain any missed notes, handouts, and homework from a class member upon return to school, and submit missed work within a time frame decided by the teacher.

4.     Student will record homework and grades in his/her agenda.

Agenda

The agenda is the most effective communication tool between home and school. Parents/guardians should check their child’s agenda daily to keep informed of his/her progress, upcoming assignments, and assessments.

Assignments

Late or missing assignments will adversely effect grades.

Grading Policy

Quarterly grades in math, science, and social studies will be determined as follows:

25% tests

25% quizzes

25% classwork /homework

25% homework completion

In order to make it possible for each student to meet the standard in math, science, and social studies, students receiving a failed test grade (less than 70) will be given an opportunity to improve the grade. Maximum grade improvement will be a grade of 70. Language arts grading policy is attached.

Extra Credit

An extra credit opportunity will be offered to students each quarter in math, science, language arts, and social studies.  The due date will be announced and directions will be explained in class.  It is each student’s responsibility to take advantage of such projects.  Late extra credit assignments will not be accepted.                                    

Department Night

Each week extra help will be offered during department night.

Department nights are as follows:

Monday        Industrial Technology, Matt
Tuesday       Language Arts, Special Education  
Wednesday 
Physical Education, Arts
Thursday    
Agriculture, Family/Consumer Science, Foreign Language   

Students must come prepared with specific goals, questions, or assignments. Department night is from 2:20 – 3:15.  Students may take a late bus home or make arrangements to be picked up.

Team Goal

“In order to promote academic success, Titan team students will come to class with all required materials.”

Unannounced “material quizzes” will be given each quarter to assess student progress toward this goal.

Titan Team Rules

1.       Follow directions the first time they are given.

2.     Stay on task.

3.     Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

4.     Raise your hand and wait to be called upon by the teacher.

5.     Respect yourself, your school, and other people’s property and rights.

6.     Come to class prepared with all required materials.
